Google and Eurekalert.org

Eurekalert.org. Each day this site publishes many press releases from the scientific world. You can almost always find someone to interview from a university or institution, clearly mentionned on each article.

Hunter.io. A website to search for professional email addresses.

Local Sources
– Call local organizations, unions, companies, or community centers.
– Visit places physically if it’s a local story (events, protests, town halls).

Use Expert Databases & Directories

– Muck Rack: Can help find contacts who’ve already spoken to press.

Ask for Referrals
– At the end of an interview, ask: “Is there anyone else you think I should speak with?”. On a tool (CRM) like Publinetis.com you can document the referrals. Other said, you can add for each contact if he/she referred someone or was referred by someone.
